Enabling or disabling a Data Leak Prevention (DLP) policy allows administrators to control enforcement without deleting the policy. This helps manage testing, troubleshooting, and phased rollouts while keeping policy configurations intact for future use.
You may need to enable or disable a DLP policy to safely validate changes, reduce operational impact, or temporarily stop enforcement without losing policy logic or historical context.
Enable or disable a DLP policy when policy conditions are under review, during incident investigation, while onboarding new user groups or applications, or when enforcement needs to be paused due to business or operational requirements.
1. In the Admin Dashboard, Navigate to Data Protection. In Policies table, you will see a Status column with toggle buttons.
2. Locate the DLP policy you want to manage from the policy list and click on toggle button to enable/disable policy.
3. You'll see a confirmation dialog will appear to confirm enable or disable operation for the policy. Click on Yes to confirm.
If you are Enabling DLP Policy:
If you are Disabling DLP Policy:
After updating the policy state, you can continue managing it based on your security needs.
→ Refer to Edit a DLP Policy to modify conditions or actions.
→ Refer to Apply DLP Policy to Group to update policy scope.
→ Refer to Delete DLP Policy if the policy is no longer required.
Enabling or disabling a DLP policy provides flexibility to control enforcement without configuration loss. This approach supports safe testing, operational stability, and adaptive data protection management as organizational requirements evolve.
