This error appears in the Zaperon Verify or Workspace mobile app when a user attempts to authenticate, but the device fails proximity validation between the registered PC and mobile device.
Users typically see the following prompt in Verify or Workspace Mobile app:
Your phone can't locate your device .
This error usually occurs due to one or more of the following reasons:
Bluetooth is disabled on the mobile device.
Location services are turned off or permission is denied.
The registered desktop and mobile devices are not physically near each other.
Network restrictions preventing proximity verification.
1. Verify Bluetooth is enabled
Ensure Bluetooth is turned ON on both desktop device and mobile device and keep both devices within close physical range.
2. Enable location services
On the mobile device:
Turn on Locations in your mobile from your notification panel.
Check for location permission are Enabled in Zaperon verify or Workspace app. Goto app info → Permissions and allow location permission)
Ensure location accuracy is set to High (Android) if applicable.
3. Keep the mobile app active
Open the Zaperon Verify or Workspace app.
Ensure the app is running in the foreground.
Disable battery optimization or background restrictions for the Zaperon verify or workspace app.
4. Check access policy configuration
Log in to the Zaperon Admin Dashboard.
Go to Zero Trust Access → and ensure the policy settings applied on the user correct. Refer Manage Zero Trust Access Policies section for more info.
