Deleting a DLP Data Dictionary permanently removes the sensitive data definition from Zaperon. This helps keep DLP configurations clean by eliminating unused or test dictionaries.
Note: Ensure the data dictionary is not required by any active DLP policy before deleting it, as removal may impact data detection and policy enforcement.
You may want to delete a data dictionary to:
Remove obsolete or unused sensitive data definitions
Clean up test or temporary dictionaries
Reduce complexity in DLP policy management
Delete a DLP data dictionary when:
The dictionary is no longer referenced by any DLP policy
Sensitive data definitions are outdated or replaced
The dictionary was created only for testing purposes
1. In the Admin Dashboard, Navigate to Data Protection and open Data Dictionary. Locate the data dictionary you want to remove and click the Delete icon.
2. Confirm the delete operation by clicking on Delete in the confirmation dialog box.
3. You'll see a confirmation dialog will appear indicating the data dictionary has been deleted successfully.
After deleting a data dictionary, you can continue managing your remaining dictionaries as needed:
→ Refer to Add DLP Data Dictionary to create new sensitive data definitions.
→ Refer to Edit DLP Data Dictionary to update detection logic or confidence levels.
Deleting unused DLP data dictionaries helps maintain a clean, efficient, and manageable data protection environment while ensuring DLP policies remain accurate and effective.
