Applying a Data Leak Prevention (DLP) policy to a group allows you to enforce data protection controls for specific users based on their role, department, or access requirements. This ensures sensitive data is protected consistently across the right user groups.
Applying DLP policies to groups helps enforce role-based data protection, limit exposure of sensitive information, and align security controls with organizational structure and compliance needs.
Apply a DLP policy to a group when new user groups are created, user responsibilities change, or when sensitive applications or data access must be restricted for specific teams.
1. In the Admin Dashboard, Navigate to Data Protection and click on Edit icon for the policy you want to apply to group.
2. Click on Apply to group dropdown and select the groups to apply the policy.
3. Click Save to apply the policy.
4. You'll see a confirmation dialog will appear to confirm the policy has been successfully applied to the groups.
You can update group assignments at any time by editing the policy and modifying the applied groups.
→ Refer to Edit a DLP Policy to adjust policy configuration.
→ Refer to Enable/Disable DLP Policy to temporarily stop enforcement without removing group assignments.
Applying a DLP policy to user groups enables targeted data protection based on roles and responsibilities. This approach helps organizations reduce data leakage risks while maintaining flexibility and operational efficiency.
