Deleting a Data Leak Prevention (DLP) policy permanently removes it from the Zaperon Admin Dashboard. This action is useful for cleaning up unused, outdated, or test policies to keep data protection management simple and effective.
You may choose to delete a DLP policy when it is no longer relevant, has been replaced by an updated policy, or was created temporarily for testing or evaluation purposes.
Delete a DLP policy when enforcement is no longer required, business workflows have changed, compliance requirements are updated, or the policy is causing unnecessary restrictions and is not expected to be reused.
1. In the Admin Dashboard, Navigate to Data Protection and click on Delete icon for the policy you want to delete.
2. Confirm the delete operation by clicking on Delete in the confirmation dialog box.
3. You'll see a confirmation dialog will appear to confirm the policy has been deleted.
Before deleting a policy, consider other management options if the policy may be needed later.
→ Refer to Enable/Disable DLP Policy to temporarily stop enforcement.
→ Refer to Edit a DLP Policy to update conditions or actions.
→ Refer to Apply DLP Policy to Group to change policy scope without deleting it.
Deleting a DLP policy helps maintain a clean and efficient data protection setup by removing policies that are no longer required. This ensures better visibility, reduced complexity, and improved manageability of DLP controls across the organization.
